Food poison - Overview


Food poison, also known as food-borne illness, is caused by the intake of contaminated foods and harmful germs which includes bacteria, parasites, and viruses. It is also caused by the harmful effect that occurs when a toxic substance is swallowed, inhaled, or comes in contact with the skin, eyes, or mucous membranes, such as those of the mouth or nose.

These infectious organisms or toxins may contaminate the food that we have taken. It can also occur in home cooked food when it is not properly cooked.
