Insomnia - Overview

Insomnia is a persistent sleep disorder where people have trouble sleeping. They may find it hard to fall asleep or stay asleep or both. Many adults experience insomnia but they may never know or notice until it becomes a chronic condition. Insomnia is commonly followed by daytime sleepiness, irritability, depression, lack of energy level and they may not feel refreshed when they wake up.

Why is a quality sleep so important?

It is important because the body releases important hormones, cells repair themselves and then your brain recharges while you sleep. Although minimum sleeping hours required may vary from one individual to the other, it is advised to get adequate sleep daily.
